Goal of the project
The project aims to improve the living conditions and resilience of farmers in North Macedonia by introducing climate-smart and sustainable agricultural practices, strengthening inclusive participation (especially of women and youth), and supporting the establishment of a cooperative.
Project activities
The project is structured around several key components:
Strengthening capacities of farmers
Including training and mentoring on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable soil management, efficient water use and gender equality in agriculture.
Introduction of sustainable agricultural practices
Including practical implementation of improved farming techniques, support for better water management, and promotion of environmentally friendly solutions on farms.
Support to farmer-led initiatives
Including provision of micro-grants and technical support for farmers to implement sustainable and climate-resilient solutions.
Strengthening women’s role and cooperative development
Including training for women in agri-food entrepreneurship, support for start-ups, and establishment of a climate-smart agricultural cooperative.
Public awareness and communication
Including campaigns, storytelling and outreach activities to promote sustainable agriculture, support local farmers and highlight the role of women in agriculture.
