International Climate Change Conference

It is our pleasure to inform you that in the period from 3-5 February 2017 in Skopje, R. Macedonia Milieukontakt Macedonia in the framework of the USAID’s Municipal Climate Change Strategies Project is organizing an International scientific and applicative conference on Climate Change and sustainability, under the topic Sustainable development for sustainable Future.

The main goal of the conference is to highlight the significance and importance of the practical application of scientific findings for climate change through the principles of sustainable development, as well as the implications of the cross scientific interdependence to achieve sustainability.

The main idea and focus of the conference is to bring together scientists, policy and decision makers and Civil society organizations and facilitate the knowledge transfer on these critical issues related to Climate Change.

 

PURPOSE:

The main purpose of the conference is to gather at one place the relevant people from the academic community, with the intention to provide sharing and presentation of the research and scientific papers in all important areas for climate change and sustainable development.

The specific purpose of the conference is to articulate the interest of the academic community, as well as of young people in the scientific areas related to climate change and sustainable development.

All accepted papers will be catalogued and published in the journal “Sustainability Today”, with an ISSN number

The Conference Proceedings (ISSN number provided for electronic version) will include the materials presented during the Conference as well as all conference materials.

Abstracts and papers

The Conference Language is English. For the Scientific parts intending contributors should initially submit only abstracts. Electronic submission (in MS Word format) through e-mail is strongly recommended.

Abstracts (for the scientific part) should be approximately 250 words in length and should clearly quote the scientific contribution of the proposed presentation, the used methodology/approach and the expected outcomes. Abstracts that do not fulfill the technical requirements will not be forwarded for review. The scientific committee will review the abstracts before acceptance for presentation.

A template for the abstracts is attached in the last page. An author whose abstract is accepted and intends to present thе work is kindly requested to register no later than January 20, 2017.

This year’s papers are submitted without fees and charges.

Authors should submit the full paper once informed that their abstract is accepted and are provided with the necessary guidelines.

All presentations will be uploaded at the web-site of the Conference. The size of the presentation or the full paper should not be more than 5MB. Research papers presented at the Conference, after the written expression of interest of their authors, will be reviewed for publication at the Journal titled “Sustainability Today”. The submitted paper is required to be a more detailed and elaborated version of the full paper included in the Conference Proceedings.

Venue and accommodation

The 3rd International Climate Change Conference will be held at the premises of FON University – Skopje (https://goo.gl/0aDiXf)

The organizer offers accommodation for all participants at the FON University’s campus.

In case a participant prefers accommodation different from the university campus, the organizer can provide a list of hotels and transportation from/ to the airport and from hotels to the Conference venue upon a request. The organizer will not cover expenses for accommodation outside the conference venue.

 

Visa

Participants that need the issuance of a visa to travel to Macedonia are kindly requested to contact the organizer on time (at least one month before the event) in case they need additional support. The organizer will facilitate them by sending the relevant invitation to the relevant Macedonian consulate after the completion of the registration procedure. For this matter, please contact Milieukontakt Macedonia at info@mkm.mk.
