Today, October 23rd, 2015, at the sports hall of the primary school Vanco Kitanov in Pehcevo, USAID’s Municipal Climate Change Strategies Project (MCCSP), implemented by Milieukontakt Macedonia, continued the realization of the campaign for raising awareness about climate change. Though all are welcome, the five-weekend campaign with the slogan “It’s up to us” targets young people aged between 10 and 17 in the ten partner municipalities where the MCCSP is being implemented: Bogovinje, Tearce, Mavrovo and Rostusha, Pehcevo, Delcevo, Vinica, Studenicani, Bogdanci, Prilep and Krivogastani, and will last until 8th of November.
In addition to the Municipality of Pehcevo, this weekend the campaign will also take place at the Municipalities of Delcevo (Saturday, October 24th) and the Municipality of Vinica (Sunday, October 25th)
Events are hosted by Mr. Zarko Dimitrioski, from the talk show “Eden Na Eden” and Mr. Branko Ognjanovski, former “K-15” member. Combining elements of education and entertainment, the hosts encouraged the young audience to take an active role in the climate change lessons and games, as well as invite them into the green truck – our entirely unique environmental classroom on wheels. Our message is: climate change and environmental decline are largely the result of human behavior and that through our individual efforts we can reduce the global threats of climate change to help our local communities.
Next weekend (October 31st) the campaign will continue at the Municipality of Bogdanci.
